After first mile I remembered that I forgot to grab a bottle of water. The short term goal became finding water before dying of thirst later. Luckily I was able to get out at the Crew House @ Wash. Landing. It was there where I drank 50 gals of warm faucet water -- it was more refreshing than a Coke and a Smile.
I found this sweet boat. It look like it had been there for years. Some kids actually made rope swings from it and I think a hobo lived inside.Continuing on, i kayaked a few more miles i turned around after there wasn't anything to look at. I really love kayaking around downtown Pittsburgh bc it's visually stimulating and i think it intrigues my (self diagnosed) ADHD but a few miles out there really isn't anything.
On the way back it started to get windy. It was blowing so hard I had to fight to go down stream for the last mile of my journey (that's weird for those of you who don't kayak). Little did I know that a tornado was touching down in Pittsburgh the very minute I was pulling my kayak out of the river on the Ducky Tour ramp. Hiking the boat 1/4 mile back to my car was a huge pain in the ass because it's +50 lbs and 14 feet long. The gusts were pushing me all over but thankfully I made it back without taking flight.
